Amazing Litter-pick Heroes
On Sunday, 27th September, sixteen volunteers turned out on The Heath for our latest community litter pick — a fantastic response! Armed with equipment kindly provided by Knutsford Town Council, our cheerful band of helpers fanned out to cover every corner of the site.
After an hour, everyone returned to the meeting point with bags full of the usual items: bottles, cans, food wrappers, and a few unusual items, including car parts, a shovel, and a pair of slippers found by Town Mayor Peter Coan!
We were pleased to have several young community members join us. James is undertaking his Bronze DoE award, and Beth and Eliza are seeking sponsorship to fund their trip to represent Girlguiding North West on the international Malta 2027 trip. We encourage our followers to help them by donating via the button below.
Found: A Pair of Sunglasses
Beth and Eliza also found a pair of sunglasses left on The Heath, labelled with the name “Christian Khonje”. If these are yours, please get in touch via our contact page and we’ll arrange to get them back to you.
Thank you so much to everyone who gave up part of their Sunday morning to help — your efforts really did make a difference. We’re grateful too to Knutsford Town Council for once again supplying the litter-picking kit that makes mornings like this possible.
Pleasingly, The Heath itself was in good shape overall, with most of what we collected found around its edges — left behind by passers-by rather than regular visitors. That’s a real credit to everyone who uses and looks after this special place day to day. Thank you to all of you who help keep it that way.
