Happy New Year! We have an exciting year ahead, starting with two events later this month.
Big Garden Birdwatch – 25th January
We’re pleased to announce our participation in a pan-Knutsford Big Garden Birdwatch, in collaboration with Friends of the Moor and the Knutsford Ornithological Society. Friends of the Moor will host their session on Saturday at the Moor, while our session will be held on The Heath on Sunday. Members of the Knutsford Ornithological Society will be present at both to share their expertise and help identify bird species.
This event is part of the national survey run by the RSPB, crucial for tracking our bird population year after year. Your involvement contributes valuable data to this important project.

Habitat Management Day – 30th January
After a three-month break, we’re pleased to be restarting our monthly workdays with Cheshire Wildlife Trust. These sessions are vital for maintaining The Heath for both people and wildlife. Whether you’re a regular volunteer or new to habitat management, we’d love your help!

Details:
- When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (join or leave as your schedule allows)
- Where: Junction of Ladies Mile and Warren Close at 10 a.m. If you’re late, look for us in the woodland/nature reserve.
If you plan to stay all day, remember to bring your own food and drink, and dress appropriately for the weather and prickly vegetation.
Cheshire Wildlife Trust will lead the work and provide the tools. They need to know in advance who is attending, so please register using the button below.
Let’s make it a great year on The Heath!
