Deadwood Lover

A soft drumming can be heard coming from the wood at the moment. If you follow the sound you will find a Pied Woodpecker tapping its bill on resonant deadwood. So, deadwood is good wood when it brings such an attractive visitor to The Heath.

Damaged Fence on Ladies Mile

This week a vehicle has collided with the fence along Ladies Mile demolishing a twenty-metre section. Meller Braggins who maintain the fence say it will be repaired as soon as their contractor is available.

Successful Clean Up

Today’s litter-pick was a great success.   With over thirty volunteers we picked up enough litter to fill Cheshire Wildlife Trust’s van. We thank all the wonderful volunteers who turned up to help. Well done, everyone!
