We had an excellent turnout of litter pick heroes this morning with at least sixteen volunteers. They scattered to all parts of The Heath and returned in an hour with their bags of rubbish.
They found the usual cans, bottles and food containers around the perimeter and in the nature reserve.
On the main body of the Big Heath, they picked up hundreds of small plastic items, such as cable ties, forks and bottle tops. There were also electrical items, such as connectors and LED lamp components. These will have been left by the funfair or circus that occupied the ground in September.
We are grateful to our incredible volunteers for giving their time.
