Knutsford ‘Royal’ May Day 2014

Once again, Knutsford's traditional 'Royal' May Day festival culminated on The Heath with the crowning of the May Queen. This year's event was extra special, being the 150th. Deadwood Lover

A soft drumming can be heard coming from the wood at the moment. If you follow the sound you will find a Pied Woodpecker tapping its bill on resonant deadwood. So, deadwood is good wood when it brings such an attractive visitor to The Heath.

Damaged Fence on Ladies Mile

This week a vehicle has collided with the fence along Ladies Mile demolishing a twenty-metre section. Meller Braggins who maintain the fence say it will be repaired as soon as their contractor is available.
