March Volunteering

We have two volunteering events scheduled for March, and we would love your help!

1. Community Litter Pick

Great British Spring Clean

Our first event will be a community litter pick on Sunday, 23rd March, when we will join the Great British Spring Clean, a national campaign organised by Keep Britain Tidy. We have pledged to collect twenty bags of litter, so please come along if you can to help achieve our pledge. We will scour the whole of The Heath for an hour and remove all the litter we find. We will provide the necessary equipment, but please bring your own gloves.

  • Date: Sunday 23rd March
  • Time: 11 a.m. – noon
  • Meet: on The Heath near the corner of Tabley Road and Manchester Road

Please read our health and safety guidance notes before joining us.

2. Nature Conservation Workday

Holly Clearance Volunteers

Our second event is our monthly nature conservation workday on Friday, 28th March. We will continue caring for The Heath with activities such as scrub clearing under the supervision of the Cheshire Wildlife Trust.

The session will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., but you are welcome to join or leave whenever suits you. We will meet at the junction of Ladies Mile and Warren Close at 10 a.m. If you arrive later, please look for us in the woodland/nature reserve.

If you plan to stay for the entire session, please remember to bring some food and drink, as we will have a lunch break. We also recommend wearing appropriate clothing to protect against the weather and prickly vegetation.

We hope you can join us; your contribution is vital to our success.

  • Date: Friday 28th March
  • Time: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Meet: at the junction of Ladies Mile and Warren Close
